Quad- Qudarilateral Security dialogue: What is QUAD:
The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue is a strategic dialogue between the United States, Japan, Australia and India The dialogue was initiated in 2007 by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan.Sardar Minister Manmohan Singh was the PM of India at that time. The dialogue was paralleled by joint military exercises of a large scale. These military exercises were known as Malabar Exercises. The Chinese government responded to the Quadrilateral dialogue by issuing formal diplomatic protests to its members.
However in year 2007, Kevin Rudd was the Prime Minister of Australia. He withdrew His country from this QUAD and it was thought because of his inclination towards China. However later on , Julia Gillard became PM of Australia and his foreign policy changed towards China and US.
