Recently there has been a union cabinet meeting to decide about promoting sports activities in India and to promote sports in India among youth population. A total budget of Rs. 1756 crore has been approved by Union Cabinet for next three years. The meeting was chaired by Prime minister of India Sh. Narendra Modi. The aim is to revise the project of Khelo India to improve sporting infrastructure and combine sports for all.
About 20 crore children of the country will be covered in age group of 10-18 in National physical fitness drive.In addition, 20 universities across India will be nominated as hubs of sporting excellence. The students will be able to pursue their studies as well as take part in sports activity. So it will help to improve the standard of competition among youth in various sports and will help to improve the level of sports in India.
The amount will also be used for improving sports infrastructure in the country , the aim is also to do development of individuals , community and society as a whole for all around development. It will help to identify the talents among sports and these students in their budding career will be guided at various levels besides providing them training and it will help to improve the standard of sports in India.
The main motive of government is clear regarding Khelo India project. So lets see how it goes on to improve the standard of sports in India.
